It is a fact universally acknowledged that once blogging has caught you in its web, it's not that easy to escape.
I may not have posted for more than three months, indeed I had decided to retire gracefully from the blogosphere but I have made friends through this secret society, and last night I met up with three of them.
@themill, a near neighbour and similarly retired, and I travelled down the A1 together to a lovely pub where we met Hadriana's Treasures, who had made a 50-mile trip to be there. Expatmum had come the furthest - from Chicago - but on this evening, had just popped up the road from her mum's.
We talked about blogging, the seductive thrall it has, friends, family and oh, normal things.
Despite my lack of posting, I also speak to Gill and Karen regularly too on that other thief of time Facebook.
As The Eagles once said: "You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave ..."

Well I can't seem to get Drunk Mummy back on the blog, but M&M has been lured back into the fold! Yes!!
How about getting @themill started as well. We could start a "Hotel Califonia" blog campaign!

well how lovely! very happy to see you back and of course not piling on any pressure about how much you've been missed, or why you really should carry on. No, none of that pressure whatsoever.
Now, what we do all need to do is mount a vicious and merciless campaign to bring drunk mummy back. Maybe it's incredibly simple and all we need to do is get her viciously and mercilessly drunk??

Mum said you were back so I thought I'd check it out. Good to see you back blogging! I haven't been ignoring you btw, just not been in a Facebook mood of late because I know if I start I'll find it very hard to stop! Plus my knackered old computer can't really cope with all the page elements either so I get bored waiting for it to load.
